With the state of the economy, everybody wants to save money. One of the surprising ways that you can save money is when you learn how to make solar panels. Another method that you can use this to make your own windmill, and both of these methods can be a lot simpler than you think you can probably create one of each with the right materials and the right instructions for $500 or less.

One thing that is really is a great with your windmill and solar panel that wit enough power created, you put power back into the grid and your meter will literally run backwards and you’ll get credits from the power company that you can use later and spend later at your leisure. It is possible to create enough power to run an entire house with a large enough system and even if it only saves you half of your bill or so a month, wouldn’t that be great?

That would be enough for many people to lighten their financial load during the current times. I know what some of you are thinking in that you’re thinking you’re not handy enough to build something like that. And I found that you don’t necessarily have to be and it’s not that difficult and plus even if it takes you a couple of weekends to figure it out… it would be worth it considering that most of the companies that charge for the use services are extremely expensive, especially solar panels which can cost thousands of dollars and can take you years to earn the money back that you should be saving. So as you can see can be really worth your time to learn how to make solar panels with a little bit of effort you can find some pretty good sources online that will teach you how to do it. Some of the sources cost a little bit of money, but overall, you can save everything that you put into it in your first month or two at most.

AZ Airfare and Cheap Getaways

   Posted by: JLW   in General

AZ Airfare and Affordable Travel

The state of Arizona has so much to offer and with AZ airfares being so cheap in the shoulder and off-peak seasons you really should come and discover the state.  You certainly want to tour the Grand Canyon with the beauty of nature showing you just how patience and time can erode something into a true thing of beauty.  Or you could want to see some of the outstanding galleries the state has to offer with the rich heritage of the Native Americans, Hispanic culture and western culture all available in different locations.

The Heard Museum in Phoenix is a must “visit” for everyone interested in the heritage of the region. Here you will be exposed to some of the best in traditional and contemporary American Indian art.  You will find ten exhibition galleries that include 5 long-term and 5 rotating exhibitions with two different locations for you to visit.

While you are staying the Phoenix area you may want to tour Pueblo Grande Museum which is an archaeological site museum and repository. The focus of the museum is supporting the understanding of prehistory, history, and ethnology of inhabitants of the Southwest.  The museum is situated at a 1,500 year-old Hohokam village ruins.  You can observe reproductions of the prehistoric Hohokam homes when walking along the ruin trail.  At the site is also some of the last remaining intact Hohokam irrigation canals. This is a remarkable piece of Hohokam history.

Travel on down to Tombstone where you can relive the Old West.  Tombstone was known as “The Town Too Tough To Die,” and is the most infamous of Arizona’s old mining camps.  This area produced millions of dollars of gold and silver throughout a seven year period.  While you are touring Tombstone you will discover the opportunity to visit Boothill Graveyard, the old Tombstone Courthouse and watch many of the residents dressed in period clothing.

Outside of Tucson you can visit the Titan Missile Museum which was home to one of the Titan II Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles.  There were 18 Titan II missile sites located at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.  The Titan Missile Museum is the only Titan Missile site that remains intact; all the others were destroyed.  You can go on a guided tour that includes the launch control room with a simulated launch and then go on through the 200 ft tunnel for an in person look at the Titan II missile.  It’s an awesome tour, be sure to make time to visit.

Travel on over to Yuma and visit the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park.  Here you will be able to tour the prison that housed 3,069 prisoners, 29 of whom were women.  The prison was last opeartional in 1909 before the prisoners were moved to a new facility.  Today you can visit the prison and look at the front gate that is so familiar to anyone that has watched western movies.

New Payday Loan - Quick Cash For a Need

   Posted by: JLW   in General

We all need a little extra cash from time to time to cover an expense that has occurred quite by accident but that doesn’t mean that the only option available is acquiring an unsecured personal loan. However, there is an alternative to this called a payday loan online which is much easier to arrange these days even if you do not have a checking account at a bank. By understanding exactly how a payday loan works, it is easy to see why this type of loan is such a popular form of loan and why so many people opt for it today.

You may have received some unexpected bill for repairs to your car and need to pay it as soon as possible. In cases like this, you don’t need a large loan and you can repay the amount as soon as your paycheck comes in. This is where the new payday loan comes in. The process works by a lender arranging for a small sum of money never usually over one thousand dollars, to be made available and to be reclaimed when you are paid less any interest due.

Fortunately the internet has helped this payday loan service and instead of contacting the local lenders, it is now a simple matter of finding a lender online and making your application there. The online application should only take a matter of minutes and the funds can be transferred to your bank account directly.

This service has opened up to many other lenders now when only a few years ago there was little chance of getting a payday cash advance if you did not have a checking account as lenders wanted to ensure their loan to you would be safely repaid as soon as you were.

Fortunately today, just a pay statement or a savings account is enough to secure this type of short term loan and some lenders even ignore the fact you may have a poor credit history. Many just accept proof that the person is actually employed and receives pay regularly. If the situation arises again where you require some cash short term in the form of a payday cash advance you will know what to do.

It doesn’t take much now to find a lender who is prepared to lend the money for a short period and all you need to do is provide proof of income or a savings account. This facility is useful but should be used sparingly as it can be very costly and some people fall into the trap of using it on a regular basis. It is easy to forget that it doesn’t take much to start relying on no credit check loans for the wrong reasons; you need to improve your financial position rather than continue to use this facility as a crutch which will eventually cause more problems than it solves.

Ornithology is a great hobby because you get to meet people, get close to nature and know the difference between each species. If there is any you know who is into this, surprise the person with a birthday gift which is in line with their passion. What gifts would please the bird watching community?

Probably a hat is one of the easiest and least expensive items to buy. This gift would act to prevent sunburn and keep help them to see. The next gift idea is a pair of cargo pants with multiple pockets which are good for small necessary items.

Something which has a greater number of pockets than this is a bird watching vest, which could be even more useful. Backpacks can be very cumbersome when you are bird spotting so these vests can be very useful and more importantly, convenient. If you know their back pack is already worn out, perhaps you get can them a new one. Backpacks are available in plenty of sizes so you only need to find one that will be just large enough for a day out as these people do not carry too many things.

The gift which costs most for a birdwatcher is a pair of decent binoculars. One of the best compact binoculars are the ones that are light in weight. The cost of the lens, which allows the viewer to see birds at greater distances, makes it an expensive purchase but you can buy best compact binoculars cheaper by shopping online. Some models are very ‘high tech’ and allow image capture and the use of specialist lenses that allow night-vision use. Buy pocket sized binoculars to keep on hand too. A good present idea is a bird watching journal because most bird watchers are keen to log the details of the species they encounter wherever they are.

For a gift with a difference, why not pay for an annual subscription to a bird watching magazine, preferably one they already read. Well pictures, information and stories about birds which frequent places around the globe, most often from areas where they have never visited. Those who can spare some cash can even send the person off on a bird watching vacation perhaps up north in Canada or down to South America. Of all the varieties of birds, there are still vast numbers that live outside of America although some might visit during certain seasons.

Best is to ask the concerned person and find out about their current needs. A small discussion can throw up plenty of possible options which should make choosing a gift which they will be happy with that’s within your budget. After the time spent finding the right gift, it may light a desire in you to start bird watching in the future. Rather than admiring such people, you would soon be joining their group.

How to Select a Car Audio Subwoofer

   Posted by: JLW   in General

Usually the very first upgrade anyone considers making to their OEM car sound system is to add a subwoofer. It really isn’t surprising since OEM speakers are simply too small and not of sufficient quality to accurately produce low bass frequencies.  Subwoofers provide the most immediate improvement one can make to a car audio sound system.  Consequently one of the most frequently asked questions is: “How do I select a subwoofer?”

Actually, your selection will depend on several factors such as your personal preferences in music, your budget and available space in your vehicle. The amount of space you have to dedicate to your subwoofer’s enclosure should be the first thing you consider. In the majority of cases, this decision narrows the field very quickly. But what if space is no problem?

Subwoofers range in size from 6” to 18” in diameter. Most are round in shape but in recent years the new square shapes are becoming more and more popular. Materials used in the speaker cones can be made of treated paper, light metals such as aluminum and even various types of composites. Paper cone subwoofers tend to sound the most natural and true to life but paper is the least durable. Aluminum Cone woofers were one of the best materials to use for quick, tight bass response (sound quality applications-SQ) because they produced very low frequencies in small sealed boxes. There are some very good musical subwoofers today that offer excellent sound quality while also presenting exceptional SPL (Sound Pressure Level - An acoustic measurement of sound energy, typically expressed in dB-SPL).

I could go on but if you are considering buying a subwoofer for your vehicle, I strongly suggest you click thru and pick up some tips to make decision making a bit easier.

One of the most beneficial tools that science and technology have ever given us is the heart rate monitor. Garmin has taken the responsibility of making the heart rate monitors more accessible by common man by packaging it in the form of a watch. Garmin has come up with many models that not only monitor the heart rate, but also work for you as a personal fitness instructor.

The heart rate monitors constantly keeps an eye on the changing heartbeat of a person as he or she works out. The heart monitors use one of two methods: the GPS technology or the Footpod function. The user must zero in one of the features depending on his or her workout regimen.

Many times, the Garmin Forerunner with heart rate monitors make use of the GPS technology. GPS is short for Global Positioning System. These systems have an antenna that is always getting signals through satellite; it analyzes the pace, duration, and direction at which the user is heading. These are viewable on the screen any time you are working out. The Footpod is usually worn on the shoe, as opposed to the Garmin Forerunner heart rate monitor which is worn and functions like a watch.

Garmin GPS Watches with heart rate monitors use the GPS technology and apply it to people who like jogging and taking walks outside. The GPS gives you unprecedented signal strength even if you happen to be standing near a high building or if you find yourself beneath a tree. The GPS monitors the exercise data even when you work out by doing other sports like bicycling and skiing.

Do you have nightmares about public speaking? When you have to stand up in front of a group does your mouth go dry? Hands shake? Stomach turn flip-flops? Feel lightheaded? Think you may pass out?

Welcome to the club. If it’s any comfort, you are not alone!

According to a well-known survey, 65% of us would rather die than speak in public. Many have tried for years to overcome their fear and given it up as hopeless. But wait! There is hope.

We can now turn to one tested method to end the fear of public speaking that has been shown to yield amazing results. It is The Lefkoe Method (TLM).

Probably the least known, but possibly the fastest way of getting rid of the fear of speaking in public, is The Lefkoe Method (TLM). TLM is based on the knowledge that our behavior is governed by what we believe to be true. Therefore, it focuses on finding the 10 or so negative beliefs that make us fear public speaking. These can be such beliefs as, Mistakes and failure are bad; If I make a mistake, I’ll be rejected; or People aren’t interested in what I have to say; etc.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of this approach is how consistently it works. In a study published by the Journal of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, university researchers found that on a scale of 1-10, participants who used TLM lowered their fear of public speaking from an average of 7 down to 1.5 (1 was a lack of any fear at all). It took an average 3.5 hours for participants to reach this level. In follow-up six months later, the fear had not returned. Based on this evidence, the researchers concluded that, The Lefkoe Method is an effective, quick, and convenient procedure to eliminate the fear of speaking in public.

TLM was created over 20 years ago by Morty Lefkoe, founder of The Lefkoe Institute. He and several other certified facilitators have helped over 12,000 clients rid themselves of their fear of public speaking, along with many other emotional and behavioral problems. Their Speaking Without Fear Program is offered with a money-back guarantee: if your fear is not gone in four or less one-hour telephone sessions, you’ll get a full refund. For more information visit: Fear of Public Speaking.

The Lefkoe Institute (TLI) has a money back guarantee and a 97% success rate.

Keep in mind that most people who have benefited from TLM agree that the skill of the practitioner is of the utmost importance in determining the effectiveness of the program. If you really desire to overcome your fear of public speaking, be sure you are working with someone who is highly skilled, gives you confidence in his/her ability, and makes you want to succeed. And about that money-back guarantee? Couldn’t hurt.

Lose The Stress With Chair Massager

   Posted by: JLW   in General

Some of the consequences of hard work are aching back, painful wrists, stiff neck, sore shoulders and even a carpal tunnel syndrome. You are most likely familiar with this if you are sitting in a chair all day.

The mental fog we have, our stress related ailments and our letargy are most often caused by the poor lymph circulation and our low blood circulation. This is often caused by sitting at a desk for long periods of time, using a poorly designed workstation, and not taking ergonomic requirements into consideration. A new massage chair has been developed. from a co-developer of the first massager, and its main goal is to improve the circulation that will result in better productivity and alertness of the user.

A chair massager can be an excellent way to avoid circulatory problems that are otherwise an occupational hazard of desk work. It serves as some sort of the break that everyone needs from time to time. Massage chairs are able to relieve the tension form our back, relax stiff neck and provide a small break for the user. A session as short as fifteen minutes is enough to improve circulation of the neck, arms, and hands, resulting in increased energy and reduced injury levels.

New electric chair massagers use high tech programs that feature tapping, rolling, kneading, Shiatsu massage and the newest trip-function as well. This devices will hlp you to experience real meditation and moments of peace. To find the best machine for you, you will have to compare many models, their prices and features, and read some massager ratings before you can choose the best massager for you.

If you have to use these devices in small spaces, like car or your office, you can use personal massagers. You can easily use these devices because they fit in your hand and remove all the pain and tension from the neck, back and hands.

One of the best ways to remember special occasions such as family holidays, weddings and birthdays is by taking photographs. The quality of pictures can come down to a number of things though, depending on how you want to display them. For example, the quality of digital camera can determine the resolution of the photo, and a digital photo frame the quality of display.

There are usually only 3 main things that we think about when buying digital cameras; the megapixels, features and price. The best digital cameras can obviously cost the most usually. For the average user, a three or four megapixel camera will usually be good enough to provide the quality of pictures you need. Some cameras may have extra features like digital zoom so it’s worth comparing several models before you buy.

The prices of digital cameras can start from as low as $40, which can be great purchases for children. As you might expect, more expensive models will have more features or more megapixels, although for a lot of people they can certainly do a good job.

For professional photographers, the quality of print is highly important. A slide scanner can be a very good purchase, especially for small projects. A slide scanner with at least 4000dpi is recommended in order to print the best picture quality. Some photo slide scanners are improving but are generally not yet capable of printing as well as dedicated slide scanners.

Of course, the way a lot of us like to display pictures is by using them in picture frames around the home. One of the better ways of displaying all you pictures is by using digital picture frames, as wall space isn’t an issue like when using traditional picture frames.

There are quite a few styles and designs of picture frames with different features so it can certainly pay off to read digital picture frame reviews. Some of the features you might want to look for include the resolution for clearly displaying your photographs, the memory capacity, display size, frame style and design, and aspect ratio. Furthermore, there are digital frames that have audio and video options, calendar, clock, bluetooth, and temperature features.

Like most products there is a huge range of slide scanners, digital cameras, and digital picture frames available online to suit most preferences. Check out several models online before you buy any particular one.

When I asked WAN optimization veterans to weigh in on what they think will be the biggest technology and industry trends to watch during the year ahead, the economy (not surprisingly) played a part in many predictions.

“The business case for WAN optimization will be increasingly based on quantitative metrics, like reduced bandwidth expenditures and improved backup times, [rather] than qualitative benefits, like improved employee productivity,” predicts Jeff Aaron, vice president of marketing at Silver Peak Systems. “This will increase the focus on server-to-server communications like database transfers and backup/recovery vs. end-user applications such as e-mail and Web.”

Economic pressures will change how enterprises invest in application acceleration devices, adds Hooman Beheshti, product vice president at Strangeloop Networks. “No longer a nice-to-have, in 2009 application acceleration devices will prove their worth as critical enablers for customer retention and become a must-have for high performing Web applications,” Beheshti says.

Mark Urban, senior director of product marketing at Blue Coat Systems, predicts that enterprises will demand better management tools going forward. “As IT managers are squeezed by budgets and the constant need for greater bandwidth capacity, they will demand better visibility into applications on the network,” Urban says. “With a granular level of visibility into applications, IT managers can make smarter management and optimization decisions. This drive to more efficient network resource planning is all contingent upon management visibility.”

Managed WAN optimization services also will get a boost, predicts Tim Richards, director of product management at Juniper Networks. “In slow economic times, CIOs must continue to buy network services and curtail spending on infrastructure. Therefore, in 2009 more infrastructure spending will happen through padded network services budgets,” he suggests.

Richards also predicts a more pervasive rollout of WAN optimization technology. “WAN optimization will extend beyond branch offices to include home offices, contractors, and mobile employees,” Richards says. “This will be enabled by wider rollout of low-end, small footprint appliances and WAN optimization client software and supported by highly scalable management systems.”

Meanwhile, ongoing IT projects will contribute to demand for network optimization and application acceleration products, industry watchers say.

For instance, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployments - which complement data center consolidation efforts - are highly reliant on application delivery and WAN optimization solutions, says Yaron Bielous, vice president of product management at Radware. In addition, “convergence of voice and data [networks] delivers cost savings and is occurring in many enterprises on a large scale, creating new service availability and QoS requirements,” Bielous adds.

Growing adoption of software-as-a-service and cloud-based services will require enterprises to deploy WAN optimization solutions that have visibility into encrypted traffic, predicts Blue Coat’s Urban. “Without visibility into encrypted traffic, WAN optimization solutions typically can’t accelerate it. To ensure these external applications work for their branch offices, enterprises will need WAN optimization solutions that can decrypt SSL traffic to determine how it should be treated.”

One alternative is a virtual appliance, says Adam Davison, corporate vice president of sales and marketing at Expand Networks. “Enterprise customers will demand more choice this year of how they want WAN Optimization deployed, meaning the market will need to innovate,” Davison says. “We’ll see further integration of WAN optimization into routers, the development of next generation ‘intercommunicating’ clients, software and virtualized solutions, and the bundling of WAN optimization into managed services offerings.”

The industry will promote cross-pollination of security, access and WAN optimization, says Juniper’s Richards. “WAN optimization clients will be delivered through SSL VPN gateways based on user credentials. Standalone WAN optimization clients will give way to integrated solutions with capabilities such as clientless download, integrated security and network access control,” he says. “Soft WAN optimization appliances that can be downloaded to access routers will emerge as a new category, and [unified threat management] appliances will interact with WAN optimization appliances to enforce network traffic security.”

WAN optimization gear that can handle real-time applications including VoIP, video training and video conferencing also will gain interest, Urban says. “Technologies such as stream-splitting live video in the branch office, caching, or pre-populating on-demand video can reduce network demands dramatically,” Urban says. “These capabilities are especially attractive if they can be accomplished on the same appliance as the one used for WAN optimization in each office.”
