Why Do People Fail In The Gym

   Posted by: JLW   in General

Here’s the million-dollar question: “What’s the number one reason people do not work out?” Is it lack of money? Lack of motivation? Perhaps they lack the ideal workout plan? Nope. It’s TIME. Or rather the lack thereof.

“We know that 50 per cent of the population doesn’t exercise and the most commonly cited barrier to exercise is lack of time.” This quote comes from exercise researcher Martin Gibala, a kinesiology professor at McMaster University in Hamilton.

Gibala put his theory to the test in a study that was published in the Journal of Physiology. In it Gibala compared a group who exercised “traditionally” — 90 to 120 minutes per day — with another group exercising far less: Only 20 minutes per day and only three days per week. That’s a whopping one hour per week folks.

Did you know that Jon Benson’s “7 Minute Muscle” plan calls for only five 7-minute workouts with resistance training (weights or bodyweight) plus only 9 minutes cardio a few days per week? And that actually works? Yeah… you bet it does. If you do the math, that’s about an hour per week as well. This is the “Level 1″ workout. There are three levels depending on your goals and exercise tolerance.

Back to Gibala’s study: In just two weeks both groups showed improvement in both exercise performance and oxygen uptake. (Remember, fat burns in the presence of oxygen.) The kicker is that both groups were almost identical in their improvement. Why? Because the brief exercise group trained with greater focus and more intensity — exactly how Jon suggests you train. This is just one of dozens of studies that confirm the benefits of shorter but more intense workouts.

However, there is a catch: Train too hard and you will shut down your fat-burning furnace. Your body perceives over-exertion done over an extended period of time as a sign of pursuit. It can trigger an ancient hormonal sequence that says, “I’m being chased by a tiger! Hoard the fat!” The body literally shuts down what it considers to be unnecessary activity in favor of self-preservation. And guess what? Burning off those hips and love handles is not a biological necessity. You have to learn when to hit it hard AND when to rest and recover.

Finally, you have to put yourself into the proper mental state in order to see greater results in the shortest period of time. Jon devotes an entire chapter to putting your mind into your muscle to make gains faster than ever before in “7 Minute Muscle.”

Just remember these three key points:

1. Time is the greatest barrier to fitness.
2. Workouts can be short and very effective.
3. The body goes where the mind directs.

Until next time, train smart.

Getting Fit - How to get started.

   Posted by: JLW   in General

Starting out getting fit.

The good news is it is never too late to get fit. Improvements in your levels of fitness will improve the way you feel and the way you look. If you are completely sedentary, right now then it is not an easy task to getting fit, but the good news is it is not easy for everyone.

On the other hand small changes can make a huge difference. For example, if you bought an upright exercise bike and used it in front of TV for 20 mins a day you will notice a massive difference. Another way would be getting an elliptical trainer and jumping on that the moment you get in from work and stride away for 20 mins, it will give you an energy boost for the evening ahead plus you will sleep better too. There are many cross trainer workouts available that you can look at to get an idea of what you can do on your elliptical trainer.

Even little things like using the bathroom on the floor above and running up the stairs to get there, rather than the one nearest your desk. At home too you can grab your exercise bike or do star jumps through the ad breaks whilst watching your favourite TV program. One thing I do is take my baby son out for a walk, 30mins pushing his buggy around, is good exercise for me and we get to spend some time together and he sleeps better after getting some fresh air, every one wins.

There are hundred of ways you can get a little exercise here and there, add all these little bits up an you are well on your way to a healthier life.

Avida Antipolo House and Lot - St. Gabriel Heights

   Posted by: JLW   in General

My aunt is looking for a house and lot in Antipolo and other similar Antipolo properties, so I called up an Avida Land sales consultant at +63.926 680 8747 and sent an email to Jhoanna@AntipoloProperties.com to get more information about having a dream home in Antipolo.

It turns out, one terrific community to live in is St. Gabriel Heights, an Avida Land community located just 12 minutes away from the famed in Antipolo church.

I was surprised to find out that Avida Land is an Ayala Land company, and if you’re from the Philippines, you know that the Ayalas stand for quality because they’re a Philippine real estate property developer which has a lot of outstanding projects.

Anyway, it truly is wonderful to live in Antipolo, because I get to enjoy the cool and clean mountain air. Plus, there’s the well-known May festival, where some devotees even make a pilgrimage to Antipolo. And not only that, I even get to have my fill of delicious goodies such as suman, kasoy, and yummy bico.

Anyway, getting back to my aunt and her OFW friends, she mentioned to me that she has a budget of about P2.5 million. Fortunately, the different house model units I saw in St. Gabriel Antipolo were well within my aunt’s price range. I wish I had taken my camera to shoot a few photos of the houses. Luckily, though, I found great-looking pictures in AntipoloProperties.com so I showed that to my aunt and uncle.

They asked me what’s the best way to get to Avida Antipolo, so I told them that if they’re coming from Ortigas Avenue, all they have to do is take the regular route towards Antipolo, but instead of heading straight for the church, they should turn right at the Elliptical Road and head for Teresa, Antipolo.

Once you get past Shopwise, just continue onwards until you see the Flying-V gas station. The road will fork, so hang a right and drive onwards for about 7 minutes, or so. You’ll see the Avida Communities Antipolo on the right, just before the road dips down towards Rizal.

I was fortunate to have Jhoanna as my guide, because she knows the property quite well, and she’s also fun to speak with. I’m sure she and my aunt will get along just fine.

Anyway, I’ll bring my aunt to see what could be her dream house and lot in Antipolo soon. I’m sure she’ll love the place and will be proud to finally own a tranquil place she can come home to at the end of each wonderful day.

Sometimes, trying to have a face to face meeting between different members of your team can be a true challenge. Perhaps one member is driving into town, another closing a sale with a client in Los Angeles, another setting up a new office in Houston, while you’re at the headquarters in New York City. So how do you get everyone together and talking? Perhaps the best choice is to utilize a conference calling service.

Different Locations, Same Meeting

Business conference calling is quickly becoming a popular way to bring your colleagues, as well as potential clients, together to have a conference for a number of reasons. The first, of course, is that it allows people who are in multiple locations to have a real time conversation.

Since everyone would be able to hear each other as if they were in the same room much more can be accomplished than if information was relayed via email or telephone messaging services.

Sound Quality

The second reason why using a conference calling company could be a great choice for your next meeting is the quality of the sound would simply be unmatched if you were to try and have the same conversation over a speakerphone, or even three-way calling.

The reason is the type of technology used in a conference calling service. By having each participant call into a central location and having the signal amplified and clarified for the best sound quality. Basically, with a conference call service, each participant sounds like they are the only person on the line.

Overall Cost

A third reason for using a conference calling company is the overall cost savings presented with each use. In most cases, if you factor in the cost of travel, time lost bringing everyone together, as well as the rising cost of long distance, having everyone call into a central location makes much more sense financially. Add to that the fact that many times the call in number is toll free, the cost savings simply add up.

The bottom line is that using a conference calling service is often a lot more cost effective, and more efficient than many of the other choices available. If you factor in the difficulty of getting everyone together, figuring out different speakerphones or complicated three way calling, using a conference calling service is one of the best options available.

10 Golf Tips to A Revised Golf Score

   Posted by: JLW   in General

1) Show up at the first tee with the idea of having fun, try to relax and enjoy your golf game.

2) Always do some kind of warm-up exercises before you arrive at the first tee and your body will thank you for it the next day, and you will play better golf. Make a real effort to Keep the ball in play. Always try to advance the ball so your next shot is improved. The worst shot in golf is one where you have to take a penalty stroke for a lost, or out of bounds ball.

3) Pay attention to how you are hitting your shots, which of your clubs are working and which aren’t, your ball flight tendencies, etc. and try to make better club selections during your round.

4) Always remember that not all of your shots will be perfect, and do not get discouraged over a few mishits, and stay relaxed. Take the good and forget about the bad. your next shot might be your best and completely turn momentum in your favour. Good golf requires focus and determination.

5) Never give up on any of your golf shots, as good golf is physical, as well as a mental game.

6) Be sure to stay down on the ball to finish the shot you want. Don’t get ahead of yourself and pull out of your swing too early. Lifting your head up is probably the most common symptom, you can’t wait to see where the ball goes. Resist the impulse, to do this.

7) Learning to chip and putt, can go along way to lower your golf score.

8) Focus on where you want the ball to land, and trust your swing.

9) Perfecting your alignment, is the first step to completing a good golf shot or putt.

10) Always have a notebook with you, to keep track of your game like fairways hit, greens in regulation, par saves, putts etc. If you do this for a while, you’ll learn what shots your good at and what part of your game needs to be improved.

7 Easy Ways to Travel Light Without Stress

   Posted by: JLW   in General

Here are 7 easy ways to travel Light and really enjoy your trip over seas. Often we are just so tired and drained of energy when we arrive that we dont enjoy ourselves. This list of 7 easy ways to travel light should solve your problems.

1: Take only the clothes you are going to need. That means no more than two pairs of shoes if you are a woman. It also means that you leave everything that is a maybe at home. If you are desperate for something new to wear while you are away, have a splurge and buy something new. Only take the smallest handbag if you need to take one at all. One way to cut way down on the number of clothes is to take only black and white or black only with some small colorful accessories. When you pack do what the flight attendants do and roll your clothes. This way they will take up less room in your bag and will not arrive crumpled.

2: Leave the Laptop at home. Dont take a Laptop unless you are going for business. Even though you can buy some quite small Laptops they are still very cumbersome to travel with. Going through security at airports with a laptop is a pain. At every check point you have to take it out of its case and then put it back in after wards. This can be quite stressful by the time you have also taken off your shoes, belts, jackets and jewelry. Its just not worth the hassle.

3: Take only hand luggage. If you can, travel with only hand luggage. You can waste so much time waiting for baggage to be checked in, then waiting for the carousel start up after embarking, and add on top of that all the time and energy you spend looking for your bag and getting it off the carousel. You can now be one of those people who just sail through security, immigration and customs first with out a care in the world.

4: Leave the children at home. Dont fly with kids unless you absolutely have to. They take so much time and energy. They hate being stuck in a plane for long periods of time and they drive the other passengers insane.

5: Minimize flights: Get you travel agent to book your tickets so that you have as few actual flights as possible. If you can get there in one flight pay the extra and do it. Not only will you save your self time and energy, you will be safer and you will have a much greater chance of getting to your location on time. The less planes you have to travel on taking off and landing the safer you will be. Also there are so many disruptions to flight times including delays and cancellations and over booking that one flight will always be less stressful.

6: Leave the kitchen sink at home. Yes I mean that. If you have a habit of taking things that you think you might need, dont. Look at point three again, this way you wont have room for the kitchen sink.

7: Dont take or buy any books, magazines or newspapers with you. Take a Kindle e book reader . These tiny lightweight gadgets (less than the size of a paperback) are wireless and can store 200 books, magazines, blogs and newspapers on them, so you can read all through your travel and be stress free when you arrive.

To find out more information about the Kindle e book reader please click the link buy Kindle now and for videos of people using How to buy Kindleplease visit here.

Children love doing what adults do. Cook a lot at home? Then your kids will want to cook too. Or at least do their version of cooking. It’s the ideal situation for setting up some cooking lessons at home. And your kids won’t even know they’re learning. For them, it will be more like a game.

Young children love getting their hands into sticky mixtures. Making muffins? Let your children pour in the ingredients. Let them do the stirring - with their hands, if you can stand it. You’ll be giving them valuable cooking lessons in how different textures feel, how different smells relate to the food we eat. You’ll be stimulating their senses and arousing their curiosity. And you’ll even be helping them develop their fine motor skills. That amounts to quite a lot more than a cooking lesson!

When your children are a bit older, let them measure out the different ingredients. Their cooking lessons could include counting out the number of teaspoonsful of sugar you add to the cake mixture. They can learn about units of weight and volume by actually weighing flour and pouring milk into a measuring jug. They’ll see how the number relate to the quantities they can see. And they’ll be able to taste the effect of different quantities of the ingredients they add. This might prove to be a valuable cooking lesson when they’re older.

Finally, when your children are learning to read and write, they can read through simple recipes themselves. Again, this is more than just a cooking lesson. They’ll be able to see how the nouns relate to objects, and actions to the processes of cooking food.

Along the way, they’ll be learning how to manage their workspace and their time. Cooking can be quite managment intensive. Many cooking lessons focus on managing a kitchen - how to manage your time by doing everything in the most logical order; your space by cleaning up as you go along. And they’ll also be learning the basics of food storage and kitchen hygiene.

Children learn all these cooking lessons at home while they’re having fun. Not a lecture to be heard. All hands on. all with tangible results that everyone can enjoy. And who knows, maybe they’ll soon be making delicious food for you and the rest of the family. Now that has to be worth a few cooking lessons.

How Does Forex Trading Operate?

   Posted by: JLW   in General

Forex trading is in essence the investment in the currency of one country.  Large global corporations that do business in many nations find value in keeping their cash reserves in a range of nations, and holding their funds in a mixture of ways.  For example, a US company may have a proportion of its working capital in US dollars, but if it does quite a bit of business in Europe may also find it advantageous to keep a percentage of its money in Euros, in European banks.  Over the years, many individual investors have discovered that there is profit to be made in speculation in the currency markets.

As an example, during the 1970’s the German deutchmark was changing swiftly in value.  It was worth anywhere from 1.7 marks to the US dollar to 2.5 US marks to the dollar.  When the mark was worth 2.5 it was beneficial to spend dollars buying marks, since the mark would buy more goods or services at that rate.  When the mark was only worth 1.7 to the dollar there was less incentive to buy it.

The Forex market itself is not integrated. There are many small Forex markets that specialise in trading specific currencies.  The most frequently traded currencies are the American dollar, the Australian dollar, the British pound sterling, the Japanese yen, and the European Euro.  The values of these currencies will vary depending on the market in which an investor is looking, so there is in reality no such thing as a single, unified dollar rate, but in its place there are several dollar rates, which are different according to the market where the trade is taking place.  The main exchanges for Forex trading are London, New York and Tokyo. With trading in these locations, speculators have 24 hour access to the markets, since Asian, European and then the American markets dovetail each other in a 24 hour cycle.

The most commonly traded currency is the US dollar, involved in 89% of all trades.  This is followed by the Euro involved in 37% of all trades, then by the yen in 20% and the pound in 17%.  The fastest rising currency in trade is the Euro, but the US dollar is still widely considered the anchor point, and the currency to watch to determine how others will react. The differences in value of the highest traded currencies form the daily news; especially if trading patterns have forced the prices significantly in one direction or the other. Changes in GDP (gross domestic product) growth, in inflation, interest rates, budget and trade deficits, surpluses and other economic conditions can cause changes in currency values. For this reason, Investors and traders follow the news very carefully. In fact, there are 24 hour cable news channels and many web sites dedicated to news of importance to currency traders.

In recent years, Iran removed its currency from European Investment Banks. The reason for doing so was in anticipation of rising world tensions, under which circumstances their currency could become susceptible to asset freezing and economic warfare, of which Forex trading could be a part.  The Forex market is very vulnerable to rumours.  In fact the central banks of some countries have at times manipulated the value of their currency by spreading rumours about hikes in interest rates and other economic news that could have an influence on the value of the currency. When this news is untrue it is called a dirty float.

Blog Appeal

   Posted by: JLW   in General

Bloggers earning money know that success comes by getting and keeping people coming to their site. No visitors, no readers, no money.

There are plenty of ways to get people there, but how do you get them to return? If someone does not like your blog, they will leave, perhaps never returning again.

Here are some tips to make your blog appealing, appealing enough to keep the traffic coming back so you can earn some money.

It’s hard to be continually writing about interesting things. The author of Blog Sampling found a way to get permission to post summaries of posts from other blogs on Blog Sampling.

This made it easy to create posts, and readers found it to be a great advantage not having to read through so many other blog sites when they could get a digest of posts from many different blog sites simply by reading Blog Sampling.

But the most common mistake made by some bloggers is in the design of their blogs . Blog readers will not only look for interesting and informative content - they also want to come to an attractive site on which to read it.

The design of a blog needs to be inviting to readers and comfortable. It is crucial not to have anything that would annoy readers, causing them to leave. Make sure you are not putting them off with colored font that is hard to read, or with a bunch of distracting graphics.

A small amount of animated graphics is fine, but not flashing ads and glittering graphics that detracts from the message of the posts, or captures the eyes of the readers away from good strategically-placed advertisements.

In addition, contrast must be taken into account. A pale yellow font color against a pure white background may be too difficult for people to read. Fonts should not clash with background color either. Clashing colors can give readers headaches, and they will leave the site without returning to it for another visit.

Another common mistake bloggers tend to make involves their content. Some bloggers fail to update very often. If you only post once a month, your readers will forget about you and will not return to your site. Post to your blog at least three times a week to keep readers and search engine spiders coming back.

Some bloggers make the mistake of only providing written content to their blogs. Written posts are great, but mix them up every now and then with multi-media formats. Provide some interesting pictures, audio files and videos. Offer a little variety to your visitors and they will come back to check and see what else you have been doing.

It is also important to stay on the niche topic of your blog. If you are blogging about cooking, then stick to that topic. Providing information about home decorating will turn off your readers unless it somehow relates to cooking. People are at your blog because of their interest in your niche.

To be successful in bringing in money from your blog, make sure you make the blog appealing to your readers. When your readers keep coming back, the chances of making money from your blog ads and offers will increase.

Good Gas Grills Will Last For Many Years

   Posted by: JLW   in General

If you are spending your hard earned money on a new barbecue grill then you would like it to last for a long time. Granted, if you aren’t spending much and are buying a lower end model then durability probably can’t be expected. However, if you are buying a new Weber grill and spending several hundred dollars then it isn’t out of the question to expect it to last.

Fortunately, today’s gas grills are mostly constructed of heavy duty stainless steel where they not only hold up to the elements but are attractive as well. These grills look great on your deck or patio and can clean up with just a little bit of TLC, leaving you with a functional barbecue grill that is ready for your next cookout. When the weather outside turns warm there really is nothing better than grilling out with your family or friends while enjoying a cold beverage.

If you are in the market for a new gas grill then you should really try to read some of the online reviews, to compare as many popular brands and models as possible. You will get a good feel for which grill manufacturers are the best and which ones you should avoid. Also talk to your friends or coworkers to see which grill they use at their home. You will get a totally non-biased response this way as they don’t have anything to gain by giving you their opinion. Sometimes when you read online gas grill reviews you don’t always get a neutral response. If you do your research thoroughly you will be rewarded with a barbeque grill that lasts a long time.
